I've been looking at videos on youtube. I think my 8 year old could bomb down the red no problem, and my 3 year old would be capable of the blue (I think) but what is hard to tell is how steep the slope is.
For some funny reason I'm not very keen on him riding fast down hills with a big drop beside him...
Surely somebody here has been to the Lecht...
Anytime I've driven past I've looked at the runs and thought about going but then I grudge having to pay to ride them so I just keep driving. It's pretty crap for snowboarding/skiing as it is unless it's been dumped on given that the runs are so short which is the other thing that puts me off going on the bike.
You've got Glenlivet just down the road which is fairly easy and it doesn't cost you money to ride the trail or just drive to Aviemore and go to the Rothiemurchus forest instead.
Hi
Went there earlier in the year, no big drops next to the trails, personally would not take a three year old down them. There are tight bends, the main problem will be that the tracks are not particularly smooth and there was large gravel/rubble on both tracks. Neither tracks are steep.
Was not really that impressed and do not think I will be taking my kids there.
Good to know it has no steep drops. I think he would cope with the sharp corners, but does find rubbly trails a bit tricky at times. He rides the Orange at Laggan and other blue trails.
He has done the Glenlivet blue, and we do local singletrack, but what we really really need is somewhere where I don't have to push him up the bloody hill first!
Actually drove past today and it looks doable. I will probably ride it with the older kids first to see, and then take the little one down it.
