I've got a bit of a funny thing going on with my rockshox super deluxe ultimate (with megneg), when I stomp on the right pedal in a high gear (stood up pedalling that causes the shock to go through some of its stroke), I can hear an obvious hiss coming from the shock. It doesn't lose air through the travel, so as long as I don't pedal hard, there is no air loss.
This issue only started after getting serviced by a suspension specialist. They confirmed there were no issues at the service, I've subsequently sent it back again after finding the leak and they've changed all of the seals again, but unfortunately it is still happening.ย
I've tried my other shock just a basic rockshox deluxe RL with the original air can and it's fine.
I've checked and there is there is no play at the linkage.
I'll try swapping the aircans and and trying both again, but any similar experiences out there or thoughts on where to look first? It's really weird!
That makes zero sense, what's the frame?ย
Sounds like it could be play in the main linkage pivots, loose hardware or out of square frame.ย
Check alignment of each end of the shock with one end detached/ no bushing in it to see if it lines up in the middle of the mounts.
I'll give that a go, thanks.ย
The shock is a trunnion shock, but there was no wear at all which is what I'd usually expect to see from a misalignment. It also worked fine before it was serviced!ย
It's a really odd one
