I've been trying to run a 36-22 set up on my Spicy for a long time now, however everytime I put it on and set it up I get an issues when shifting on the front with the chain been drawn up over the swingarm.

Has anyone else had any sort of issues? It works fine with a 42-32-22 set up and I've tried changing all sorts - the rear mech, chain, little ring, cranks to no avail.

Can someone help?

Are you certain this isn't to do with drive chain wear, becuase it usually is? How close are the chain stays to the rings - can you get another BB spacer in there to make a bit more space?

The chainstay and the rings are quite close. The bb is push fit and if i remember when i last fitted a new one they dont actually come with any spacers.
Another think that always happens is when you pedal backwards as i do when cleaning and lubing the chain it always fails off the gears its in down to the next one or even down another.
Could this all be linked in some way.
The cranks i am continually trying to fit are raceface and i would really like to get them to function correctly.
All help appreciated

Is the 36t the same age as the chain?
