I've never understood this "too much for the uk" idea: There is plenty of scope to make the most out of any bike in the UK.
I test rode the base model last year and really liked it although it only had a Float R rear shock and I think the pro-pedal was set too high as it didn't feel that plush. I climbed amazingly well though.

I forgot to say that I ended up buying a Myhthic (a.k.a. Banshee) Rune and I absolutely love it.
