Has anybody else out there got a Lapierre on order? I ordered a Zesty back in November from my LBS and have still not recieved it yet, despite being promised a Febuary delivery. This date keeps slipping futher back with the latest date being the end of March.
Should I hang on a bit longer or consider other bikes. Will it be worth the wait?

Yes it is worth the wait.

I got my Zesty out of the garage for the first time this week after riding my hardtail all winter and after 50yds I was grinning like an idiot.

Fantastic ride. If it's the bike you want just be patient. If you compromise you might always wish you'd hung on for it.

Thanks for that 5thumbs. Truth be told there is no other bike I actually want. Having considered a Trek Fuel ex9, Yeti 575, Turner 5 spot, Transition Covert; they all seem to be a compromise in some way compared with the Zesty.
I too have been riding a hardtail all winter (Cove Handjob), but come Easter I want to be out on the Zesty.

I had to wait months for my Froggy too, got it about a month ago in the end.

Must have been on the boat before your Zesty.

Yes we (Crosstrax) do have stock of Zesty and Spicy, dont have a 514 Medium in stock but have one held at the suppliers.
The problem with delivery has been with the supplier increasing the number of dealers, Lapierre selling in to other countries, some dealers putting big orders in to ensure stock, Lapierre themselves being unprepared for the demand.
We have had a nightmare getting stock and have lost a number of customers who wanted bikes.
There just arent enough bikes and the importer are sending them out as quick as they can, but they are still fulfilling preseason orders before they get available stock.
If your shop hasnt got a preseason order waiting to be fulfilled then I reckon you could be waiting a while. you could ask them to pay for it pro forma for you which might get the supplier to supply it to you

Now you know why!

Every other bugger seemed to have one in France last summer. They must be keeping them all over there!

You obvoiusly don't ride in Bristol or South Wales as they are everywhere. More so than Stumpjumpers even.
I own a 514 btw; it's a great trail centre / fast singletrack bike.

Probably give LBS until then end of March before trying to get one else where.
I wonder if the French are gagging to get hold of our Orange 5's?!?

Sancho (up there) was kind enough to lend me one last summer for a week in the alps.

it's only got 140mm of travel but i never wanted more, it's an awesome bike. of all the bikes i've ever ridden, that's the one i'd take back to Les-Arcs. no second thoughts.

the demo bike i rode had clearly seen some action, but everything felt tickety-boo. very tough, very light.

worth. waiting. for. i'd. say.

I'd say worth the wait - but then I've got one (2008 - 314) so I would say that.

Got mine from Crosstrax - nice guys. Speak to Ed see what stock they have and he can give you a realistic estimate on when you might get one and if your LBS can't fulfil your order buy one from him.

I bought mine (714) from Crosstrax in Otober 2008. Brilliant bike and superb service from Ed. He ordered a small in specially for me to try and let me take it home to test ride. One ride and there was no way I was gonna send it back.

I feel your pain Gonzarlez. I'm currently waiting on a spicy and am hearing the same things about delivery as yourself. Thankfully i've got the hardtail to keep me going.

What Zesty/Spicy were you after?

I've just returned from a week in North Wales with a lovely new Zesty 514! Revolution Bikes still have a Zesty 314 and a Spicy 316. Well they did on Friday.

After going in there at the beginning of the week and them confirming the supply problems i decided to buy now rather than wait! Sounds like i was lucky to have got hold of one!

As far as im aware Lapierre won't be getting anymore either! in the UK at least.

They'll be starting production of the new range pretty soon i imagine too.
