Anyone know if there's anything worth pedaling too outside Lancaster? I've only got a SS so the closer the better... Looking for basic XC stuff, prefer going up hills to going down them!

If you ride down the quay you can pick up the old railway bed to Glasson, which is quite scenic, or head up Freeman's Wood at the crossroads and take the coastal path to Aldcliffe before rejoining to railbed. From Glasson there's actually a section of BW to the coast near Pilling.

You can also find a path near the crem that leads to Hest Bank, and a short section of road brings you to Ancliffe Lane which is off road back into Lancaster near the canal viaduct. There's also another rail bed track from Parliament St. (Skerton Bridge) which goes all the way to Bull Beck just beyond Caton
