Evening all,

Apologies if this has been asked before, i am looking to visit the Lake District at the end of July with a mate for some biking and a few beers.

We are good, experienced bikers with ah the gear and nae idea!!!

Seriously though, we are both experienced bikers and have a good level of fitness, i shall be upon my newly built Cotic Soul and neep heed will be over biked as usual on his Nomad. I intend to kick his ass all weekend, but after i have done that we require somewhere to wash, change and leave the bikes before partaking in a beer in a few public houses.

Anybody got any suggestions?

I originally thought Windermere, but on reflection it appears to be full of old duffers!

So where can we stay that is close to some good biking (any trail centres worth a visit?) and a few good pubs?

Thanks,

Mike.

Borrowdale, Keswick. I stay at the Chapel farm campsite in Rosthwaite. there are only a couple pubs but Keswick isn't too far away and a taxi between you all will be peanuts

Plenty of pubs here.

B&Bs:

http://www.harvingtonhouse.co.uk/

Both owned by bikers.

Take a look at a B&B called Fairy Glen as we stayed last year and it was great.
