Doing a ride on Sunday 90% I have done before in parts, but say I drop down behind the Ladybower pub turn left at the lights is there a legal way to get to Wooler knoll through the woods(not on the large path round the lake)?
I can't see a bridleway on my map but the other week I came to wooler knoll from the other direction and saw lots of riders coming from the Yorkshire Br area.
Thanks
Rob.

There's a nice steady rideable climb shown on the link above, it does get a bit muddy at times. Or you can go a bit further round the reservoir and pick up the steeper more direct (and less muddy) route.

You need to turn left at the top through the gate and climb up through the woods.

Thanks Chris thats the one, the steeper hardpack track is the one I have done before, is the turn on the left at the edge of the water that takes me up to the gate easy to spot?

It's a grassy singletrack trail, I think it's near a bench. If you keep a look out look you'll see it. It gets more obvious as you climb.
