I've been given a KS i900R post that doesn't stick down. it'll compress when weighted, but releasing the lever does nothing, it just returns to full height.
I can compress it without activating the lever too, again, it returns to full height once unloaded.
there are a few hints and tips, including a full oil change/service on MTBR, but wondered if it was worth spending the time to do that, or whether it's something fundamentally buggered.

daft question but does it do that with the remote cable detached from the post?
ie you sure its not just the cable tension...mine had that issue.

yeah the cable isn't attached, it's not on a bike yet.
