Looks like a super-rubbish design.
So it has an "oval" seal? - That won't seal very well along its flat sections.
It has indentations that run through the seal? Right!!
That adds up to muck getting in there and stopping the locking plates from working properly, soon followed by failure. Quite quickly I would imagine too.
Not a CB basher; I love their multi-tools and used EBs for years.
