Try and get a warranty replacement? Was it an A?

the break looks a bit rusty/dirty so it may have been there for a while as a crack before snapping completely.

if it's out of warranty Argos Cycles should be able to weld a new dropout on.

No. It means it has been attacked by a wizard.

That's a Unit.

There's been 3 of them snap in the group I ride with, one chap has now had 2 on warranty, the other was used so he bought a Scandal instead.

Terrible reliablity on Units.... ๐Ÿ™

Oddly, my first SS was an old Kona CinderCone from '97. Bought for buttons from the old importer as it too had a broken drop-out.

Put track drop-outs on it for a fresh lease of life.

Serves him right for taking it anywhere near Hogwarts! ๐Ÿ™„

Bat, the general consensus is that Kona Units snap a lot. Some go on the downtube, some at the dropouts.

Drop out is the right and traditional place for a Kona to snap. It's the natural order of the universe.

looks like you've been using that bike.

In future just polish and only post pictures of it on the forum when requested by others.

Sounds about right, my '92 Hahanna's dropout snapped going round a roundabout on the way to work in c'99. Got the fitter at work to weld it back on, worked fine till i sold the bike on.
