Having not been into mountain biking for that last 15 years - road and cycle cross having taken over i’m massively out of touch.
i have a 1998 MokoMoko still knocking about which I’ve only really used when the kids were learning to ride. It’s a mix of XT and XTR.
is there any value left in it. Worth dusting off ??
what sort of value? Would a newer bike be a massive step forward?
If there is any value left it'll be found at Retrobike
A newer bike would be a huge step forward, but i'll probably take time for you to adjust to them.
Sell it n retrobike
Buy a new one, it'll be much more fun to ride
Good lord, I had a Manomano (same suspension design but further down the range) and without my 90s rose-tinted specs on it was a bit rubbish. OK, a lot rubbish but I wonder how much of that was the terrible Indy XC forks.
Flog it to someone on retrobike for them to polish. You have a whole new world to discover of bikes with brakes and suspension that work properly.
Is it 20" or larger? 🙂
Think it’s a 18” medium. Just need to make space so probably move it on
Very little value. £100-200 quid max I would guess (depending on condition of course), if you could even find someone looking for one. They weren't great when new imo, anything new would blow its socks off.
I have an earlier Kona, works well as a blast for SS duties and has been on long trips as well; I haven't had a 15 year break from MTBs but I would struggle to go back to it as my only bike, now, having got a much more up to date bike..
If someone wold collect if my place for £100 i’d Bite they’re hand off! What’s the link for retrobikes
XTR bits might be worth a bit (especially if it has XTR v-brakes). Whereabouts are you?
Mm, location please 😉
Pembrokeshire but work in Carmarthen
Phew, well out of temptation radius 🙂
Always a bonus hey Bez
