Giraffe legs like his old man and birthday next week. Looking for the holy grail of comfy, not too cumbersome, stay in place and a decent level of protection. And also not costing more than my pads, prices seem crazy these days (like everything). Recommendations please!
XL Pearl Izumi elbow pads or similar. If his legs are really skinny
The old 661 2x4 elbow pads used to work well. Quite flexible so can fit well. Don't know what the current equivalent is
My 8yr old is in size small Fox Enduro elbow guards. Expensive but worth it to prevent avoidable injuries that could impact her other pursuits.
My son got a pair of endura pads for Christmas before last and pretty much never wore them, he’s outgrown them now, they’re almost as new if you’re interested, he’d be grateful of 20 quid posted if you’re interested? I’ll post some pics if you are?
My lad got on well with G-Form from about 8 years old, he looks like he's inheriting my thighs now though... I also have G-Form knee and elbow pads and can vouch for their comfyness!
We have not had any complaints over the Fox Launch Youth Pro (old hardshell) except to remove labels indeed we got 4 yrs out of whatever size they are. They are also shredded now ... and my 11yr old has big legs (and a skinny upper body) so I'll be buying adult size when we change.
That said like any knee pad it's not what others find comfy but your kid finds comfy.
I personally find my own Launch Pro comfier than the old XC pads... which I only wear under jeans as they fit easier... but that is just the shape of my legs.
my skinny 11 year old wears IXS hack XS knee pads
My 11 year old wears youth 7idp pads, I also wear the adult ones and really rate them.
