I've been thinking about some knee protection.

The problem is I can't find anything big enough...measuring 10cm from the knee cap (as suggested) my thigh is 54cm (21in) and even large pads don't seem to go that big. Tried endura single track ones in L and couldn't even get them over my knee...can't seem to find anything that might fit..

so large knee pads for big thighs to ride all day in please, what's the recommendation??!!

Signing up for the thread as I also have big legs and have been considering knee pads after my mate came off first run of the day at BPW and spent the rest of the day in A&E with an exposed knee cap! 🤢

I have g-form and Oakley pads. Both really comfy and fit well with massive thighs and calves. XL's for me.

The 7idp are good but they stretched and have gone a bit baggy and need pulling up sometimes. Not too annoying and I can ride all day without problems. I have the elbow pads too...somewhat disappointing to have xl legs and L arms though 😂

The Elite's (XL only) seem a bargain @ £10, even if the delivery lead time is over a month

The 7idp pads arrived from Tredz in mega quick time.

unfortunately I just thought they were to bulky. To my eye they almost looked like motorbike knee pads and I just felt the solid plastic bit would get quite annoying. I didn't feel like I could straighten my leg so peddling might have been awkward.

The wife found, and bought some POC ones that had they fitted I think would have been the ticket so I'm going to try an XL set of the VDP pads

Are you legs much bigger than mine? I use iXS Flow in a size XL.

The 7idp ones you got must be different to mine then as they’re fabric with slip in malleable pads. Sam Hill's name on them.

@reeksy

ahh.. i have no idea why but i ordered the flex knee pads… which definitely didn’t really flex…!!

I’ll have a look at the Sam Hills.. they sound close to what I’m after.

The POC ones arrived and also look quite neat..

the search continues l!
