After adding my 3rd link tonight I think I need a new chain.
I had a kmc x9 something on my old bike and liked it.
Which model for natural trails, trail centres and light freeride? The x9? Also im fairly heavy and thinking of going 1x9 so may be doing some standy up pedaling on the hills.
Try a Wippermann Connex instead - crc and wiggle sell them
+1 for the Wipperman, very strong, and reallllly long lasting.

I use either XTR or KMC X9.93 (as per your link) on my Orange and a Wippermann 908 or KMC on my SX Trail. At the risk of sounding like a stuck record, the KMC is probably the best value chain on the market. It's every bit as good as the XTR in terms of feel, shifting and durability, but is roughly half the price. KMC use a Missing Link (same as SRAM's Powerlink) so it's easy on/off for cleaning or determining derailleur problems (sorry!)
ha - well thats sorted now anyway - bought a new mech today and getting a warranty replacement on the old which will go on here when i get it.
Been out tonight in the fog and dark - was excellent until another snapped chain incident.
