Looking to get my first gravel bike this week and have decided on a tripster. But thee seems to be mixed opinion on sizing eg. some people will size down for kinesis gravel bikes. I'm 6ft and currently ride an old trek 1000 road bike 56cm frame but couldnt decide on the 55.5 frame or 57 on the tripster. Ideally I would have tried both but most of the kinesis bikes are online sales only. Any advice would be appreciated!
Find a local Kinesis dealer (Thereis a list on their web site).
Ask them to order one of the demo fleet in for you to try.
I had one for a weekend from my local dealer to try/ride etc.
i used to sell them, I'm 6ft and usually ride a 56cm frame, found the 57cm too long and the 55.5 just about right
Interested in this too. I'm 5'11" with a 34cm inseam and fit within the sizing ranges for both the 55.5cm & 57cm. I'm thinking that 55.5cm would be the one to go for but I'm not sure.
i'm 5'10" and usually ride a nominal 56 in whatever and ride a 55.5 AT, but with a 10mm longer stem
i'm always surprised at how upright some people have their gravel bikes though 🙂
6’ here with a 33” inseam and had both the 57cm and a 55.5.
The latter was better fit for me, though more for road than gravel. And I do like my road bikes a bit smaller.
I’d say if you’re going to be doing more road miles on it and occasional gravel, then smaller is better, but if it’s the other way around, the slightly higher front end of the larger frame might be worth a test ride.
If you look at the geometry charts you'll see there is 1mm difference in the reach between the two frames. But there is 11mm difference in stack. You might as well call them tall and short rather than give them a number (a number that bears not relevance to any measurement on the bike). I've got a racelight granfondo and it's a similar situation. With long legs for my height the extra stack was important to not ending up with a more spacers than healthy. The difference in reach is dwarfed by the difference in reach between different bars so tweak with your fit with your bar choice (or stem obvs). So if you are of the slammed persuasion go 55.5 and if you like a slightly reduced saddle/bar difference go 57. My saddle top to centre BB measurement is 807mm so getting the bar drop below 10cm required the taller frame.
I'm 6ft tall but only have 29 inch inside leg (yes - gibbon arms) and found the 55.5 size to suit me best.

I am 6ft & ride the 57cm Tripster AT, I have a long back so went for the 57 fits fine. Am sure you will be fine on either size.
Just to add variety, I'm 6 ft tall, with a 34" inseam, and ride a 55.5cm Tripster AT. The reach feels spot on for me with a short-ish 100mm stem, and there isn't an extreme amount of seatpost exposed. My road bike is a 56cm Cannondale Synapse, where I'm definitely at the extreme end of the size range for that bike, as the (normal road length) seatpost is about 5mm under maximum extension. Maybe I'm just used to bikes with a shorter reach and lower stack height, but the 55.5 Kinesis feels like I'm more in the middle of the height and reach range for that frame.
Thanks for the tips. Had originally went for the 57cm but having tried it out it just felt a bit too tall and outstretched so I'll be sending it back and going for the 55.5cm frame.

Hope it works for you but re the ‘stretch’ you do realise there is less than 1mm in it on the reach?
