[Closed] Kielder in the winter

I've got to take a load of time off over the next month or two so I'm planning a few days out on the bike. What are the trails like in winter? It's about a 2 hour drive so I don't want to waste a day driving up there to find it's rubbish in the winter.

Any info would be useful.

I've only been in Jan Feb and it was fine, it's quite exposed as trail centres go though, there's a sign saying mobile signal is a mile down the road at the trail head!!

Yep it's a trail centre so as weather proof as you'll get. It is remote / bleak on some of the routes though. The riding isn't the best as trail centres go, but I like it as it has a more remote feel to it.

Thanks for the info. I've been to Kielder before but it was years ago before the trails. I thought it would be ok to ride but it can get bleak.

Fergal, I'm in Lancashire.
