Looking at the 2.35 folding DTC/SWS Nevegal for front and rear for all round type tyre good ? or something else out back small block 8 ?
Cheers
Used mine front and rear. Does what it says on the tin.
Yeah Im well keen on the Nevergals had 4 sets now make sure you get the 'duel' ones and not the cheaper ones
duel as in compound ?
Run Nev on the back and Blue Groove up front, been used all year for everything except Mayhem
I run a sticky Nevegal upfront, good tires.
Good on either end but I prefer the stick-e on the front, go down a size if you're worried about drag. The 2.1 stick-e is about as fast as the 2.35 DTC but finds a fair bit more grip on rocks etc.
DTC is a very good allround rear, though I've never really felt any need for more than a 2.1 on the back, that's still a fair sized tyre since Kenda's sizing isn't just marketing or guesswork.
Mind you, this time of year a 2.35 Small Block 8 is probably a better rear, depending on where you ride.
2.35 nevegal DTC SWS on front and Small Block 8 2.1 rear perfect for trail centres rear suprisingly good in wet. Dont get the 8's in UST they are wayyy heavy. I have tried 3 combos this year and this one wins hands down. Just a shame they dont do 8's in SWS.
Had a nevegal/blue groove combo on one of my bikes and my spesh eskar/maxxis larsen tt on the other bike are so much better.
running 2.5 stick-e folding front and rear, 900g a piece, only been running them the last few weeks but pretty happy with them.
I run the 2.1" Nevegal folding dual compound (DTC) all year round - a great jack of all trades. You could go to a stick-E on the front for extra grip but faster wear/slower rolling.
Beware, they do seem to come up very big compared to most other brands - the 2.35" are huge.
"the 2.35" are huge."
Measure one some time. Shockingly they come in at 2.35 inches
I've just started using DTC folding in the (huge looking) 2.1 cos they were on sale from On-Ones website..
No problems so far.. but has anyone tried running them reversed on the back wheel for a bit more grip..?
The tread pattern looks like it might offer more grip on steep climbs in very slippy/loose conditions... or am I being a prat?
I switched from Blue Groove to Nevagal, front and rear, a couple months ago and so far have been impressed. I had no issue with the Blue Groove, but when it was time for tires, the LBS only had Nevagal in stock, so decided to give them a try. Of course, I am riding in mostly dry, rocky, sandy, desert-like conditions so don't know how they would fare on wetter trails--the most "severe" wet condition I have encountered on them was crossing an 18" wide stream this weekend.
I ran one on the rear last year with a blue groove up front, 2,35 DTC Tomac etc...... they had plenty of grip for what I needed and reasonable pinch protection.
They did drag plenty, about -5mph over slicks on the road.
Gone tubeless now so keeping them for a 'rainy day'.
I've just stuck some 2.1 DTC Nevegals on. Previously had a 2.4 Rubber Queen (front) and 2.35 Fat Albert (rear). Way less drag, plenty grippy enough in dry conditions, and nice and light.
Best bit was getting them for a tenner each though!
2.1 Nevegal DTC on the front with a 2.3 60a Crossmark on the rear.
Work for me.
Best bit was getting them for a tenner each though!
Linky ?
£15 at on-one. WOrking well for me, if I can get them for a tenner I might get another pair for spare!
I have got 2 2.3 DTC and 2 x 2.21 dtcs that i am looking to sell.
One of the 2.3s has had a tubeless repair (slug through the tread and still seals tubelessly - not ust tyres btw)
Can do you the best pair of 2.1/2.3 for £20 posted (these are not the OE ones that on-one were knocking out)
