[Closed] Keeping it simple
Well I did something today that I haven't done in a loooooong time.
Rode my mtb from the house! Normally I would drive somewhere, but I thought you know what now I has a 29er bike lets go and explore.
Living in Lincs doesn't give me über gnar and great hills but by eck I had fun this morning. 32 miles of riding old skool style trails brought a smile to my face and made me realise I don't always need a trail centre.
Good times and it alao brought back a spark of enthusiasm.
I almost posted something similar this morning. Short of time Dad having worked the last few weekends so really taking a day away from the family would have been taking the pee slightly.
So instead I took the karate monkey out for a couple of hours from the front door. I love the way that pretty much wherever you live you can string something together. I reckon throughout my whole ride this morning I was never more than 200 yards from the M60 motorway but I easily managed 20 miles throughout which I travelled along 3 short stretches of road. All of the rest of it was made up of muddy ginnels down the back of houses, bridleways, canal path and a surprising amount of cheeky singletrack (including two separate " jump spots" dug by local kids). All done and dusted by 11 o'clock.
I'm happy, she's happy. 8)
i did the same on friday (day off) took the HT and not even a pack or drink, a few glasses of water before i set off 😉
less then 100m on the road then lots of cheeky stuff, had a great time. had no plan/route in mind just made it up then i got to a junction! found lots of new stuff within a mile from the house which i normally just ride by.
some times you forget how fun "just riding" a bike is 😛
Aye it's ace to remember the simplicity of riding.
Problem is we cancelled you out by driving to the trails that we usually ride to (45 mins each way), so we had puff and time for gratuituous loops up and down and a bit of exploring, planned carefully with local knowledge to finish on a nice down, chuck bikes in car and back home.
Guilty pleasure but what fun.
