aye the blackbox is good in the fast n rough, stays smooth over fast successive hits but other than that it feels the same. enjoy!

How much was it, if you don't mind?

Is it as simple as unscrewing the MC damper and slotting the BB one in in it's place?
I can't see it being any more complicated than that.....
🙂

Recently went from a Revelation with Motion Control at 130mm on my bike to a Reba with Black Box at 120mm.

The fork felt pretty much exactly the same until you hit the consecutive hard and fast hits, where it copes a hell of a lot better and doesn't have the tendancy to spike or pack down so readily as the Motion Control damper does. Highly recommended!

Interesting

I've got a Recon which isn't even motion control. Would this till fit?

Does this do anything to the compression damping (more low speed compresion damping) or is it just speeding up the mid dtroke rebound?

Gra would've thought so, the blackbox is in the right leg, spring is in the left.

Ampthil, AFAIK recon will fit. Double check of course!

I think they're laughing at you.

And to be fair they're quite right. 😉

have a browse of the rockshox spare parts catalog. 2012 Spares

It shows the various permutations of damper cartridges - a bit of detective work and you should be able to figure out which cartridges will fit your fork. They're not difficult to fit/change- mainly be aware of the correct oil amount.

Rode the Quantocks today and I'm impressed and a perfect compliment to the Pushed rear shock.(Pitch)
Tracked thro the rough stuff much better!
Happy with my Sektors now.
No more looking for Fox forks 🙂
