Biggest regret was selling my old Titanium voodoo djab frame when I was strapped for cash.. I ran it Singlespeed, geared, had a 100mm fork and tried a 130mm. Great handling bike and reminded me of an old kona explosif as I've always loved the geometry

So i saw the steel version going on ebay and couldn't resist.
[img] [/img]

I've seen posts of people running them as a 69er and 650b. Really interested int he 650b route. What fork would i have to get to accommodate the larger wheel?

Does anyone know what year the frame is? I notice it's got a gusset under the downtube by the headtube. Haven't seen this on earlier versions?

trying to get hold of one of those oval goldtec rings that apparently fit a middleburn (rs7)

Mine doesn't have a gusset, same colour though, makes a great 69er

How long did you have it as a 69er? Did you have it set up singlespeed?

I have an 18, which I should really sell but can't bring myself to, so the frame is sitting in the garage, and I bought some p2 forks to go with it for pub/shop duties.

You basically can't go far wrong with any frame Joe Murrey has put together. Loved my old Wanga. There's nothing better on some swoopy singletrack. I Had to get shut of it when I lost my business and had to rationalise the bike collection. Theres not much better than a decent steel hardtail.

Enjoy! 😀

The one bike out of the ridiculous amount I've had over the years that I truly miss. I ran it single speed rigid with a stupidly light (and expensive) build and I loved it! The same frame in a 29 flavour would be amazing!

Got an original imported one from Cycleworks from a long time ago. Being abused by my brother just now.Once the tight git decides to what new bike he is going to buy I think I will ship the frame out to build up again.

When I mangled the dropouts, I contacted Voodoo and Joe Murray himself replied. Great customer service.

Shame Halfords got involved in the UK and made them all hydroformed crap.

Ran mine single speed, 3x9 1x10 -

I found mine to be very flexy. Kept dropping the chain when run SS.
Lovely ride though.

I had one a few years ago. Paint was very thin. Seem to remember had some issues keeping the rear wheel in straight. Probably user error. Looked nice tho, think that's an 18.

My dropouts slid, wheel was always slightly over, i put it down to me being a fat git.

Never thought of sanding them down

That's three of us with slipping rear wheels. The third time I hit my Nutts on the stem after giving it some welly up a hill I sold it. Tried sanding it and threadlock.

Do you think the gusset on the later model is due to an Increase in fork travel? I've

I'd also offered £85, and he just accepted... So I'll be raiding the spares bin to build up Friday afternoon (or so)

Wondering if I might go fat front as I have a spare pair of forks 🙂

I'm liking rockedogs 69er. I currently have some old rc31 forks which might be able to squeeze a 29" wheel in. Failing that I've always fancied some salsa Cro motos, just need to track some down.

Mines arrived yeah 🙂
Rc31 steerer length too short, boooo 🙁
Now need some new forks possibly for 69er use, what length a-c should I get, maybe carbon, most probably steel. Suggestions please.

I've had a 29er wheel in my 420mm A-C steel On-One forks, which are relatively short for a modern 26er fork.

there's mine - bought the frame 2nd hand and it had just had a Bob Jackson respray to that colour.

Also ran it with an RC31 and slicks for a while and did the Cairgorms classic sportive on it.

My rc31's are 440 a-c and I would use them but the steerer is just under 200mm. Taking into account the 140mm head tube plus headset and there's not much room left to fit a stem, approximately 30mm.

Was fine on my inbred but that only had a head tube length of approx 110mm iirc.

Funny how we are all different. I had one, hated it, couldn't get shot of it quick enough. Same with a Scandal and a Cotic Soul. Wasn't really happy until I got a Swift, but that is a different kettle of fish!

I bought a 26 bizango frame off ebay but then sold it to a guy on here who was looking for a good, zingy, steel frame, but didn't the the Soul cut it. He loved it - I hope he has done it up as I passed on all the frame decals that Joe Murray posted me when I enquired.

It is strange. I absolutely love the old skool kona's ever since trying my mates rigid explosif oo er 😉

Other mates have ridden that along with my old djab and hated it. Really didn't like way it handled

I had a columbus tubed explosif before the Wanga but changed to the wanga for disc brakes and a longer fork.

The wanga wasn't quite as composed at the rear in rough stuff as the explosif, but fairly close.

Got mine too, paint is a bit thin (transparent) under the BB

Matters not, as it'll be pebble dashed soon enough.

I was tempted to helitape it but a) I'm impatient b) not worried if it needs new paint

Wiggle delivery for a BB & Headset tomorrow and I'll start playing with putting it together

I'm 5'10' and had a 17", and found it perfect. I'd go for that rather than the 18"

I'm really really tempted myself. But I really can't justify another steel hardtail.

I helitaped mine as soon as it arrived so never had issues with the paint quality. Easy enough to do before you build it

Love my D-Jab, its been my "one bike to rule them all" for a few years now. Ran it with 120mm and 150mm forks, but also as a rigid 69er. Sadly selling the frame as I diverging my tastes into a bouncy big mountain machine, and a rigid 29er mile-muncher.

Anyone want to to buy a 20" titanium beauty?

I am 5ft 10 and ran an 18inch frame with a 110mm stem and xc riser bars.

17 would have been a bit small, 19 OK with a shorter stem.

Beware that the headtube is quite tall, if you have forks to go in it.

Turnerguy - I still have and ride the frame. Single speed and did the Brighton Big Dog on it. Bloody marvellous it is too and is a keeper 🙂 I will get it resprayed but use it too much to send it in to have it done :-/

I emailed voodoo to check the fork length. Got the reply from Joe Murray. My hero!!!

Always coveted a Djab. Currently riding a Ti Dialled Bikes Morning Glory- has anyone ridden both and can do a comparison? Love Voodoos, but no point in me exchanging like for like ...

I've put my spare fat forks up front just to see what it looks like (and the HA is!) when it's got tyres on it

it will be their own steel - 'black magic' or something like it. Pretty much the same as 631 I think though.

Raided the rest of the parts bin, and finished mine off in time for a quick round the block ride

Compared to my other bikes, it's short up front & short back end with the drop outs pushed forward which makes for manuals & wheelies to be pulled far too easily 🙂

Not much clearance at the back with a Smorgasboard, but I've got the fat bike for mud

With 120mm forks on it, the HA is 69degrees, which isn't too shabby
