So, my Joplin4 has died and it looks like the schrader valve has failed as it's unable to hold air or oil.
After a crash course on Schrader valves it appears I can buy a tool to remove the valve core and buy replacement valve cores on CRC - I'm presuming this will fix my problem, but wondered whether I'm missing something?
Yeah, I had to do mine. Take the bolt/cap off, use the tool to remove core. Insert new one. Takes all of a couple of minutes.
Excellent - cheers 🙂
They are standard removable schrader inners - pinch one off a tube to test. 2pure sent me some spares........however it wasnt my schrader, it was the top valve 'o' ring that was the culprit, quite common.
@sugdenr
Was the top valve O ring difficult to replace? The service guide I found online coveniently misses out that bit. Mine also loses air when the lever is actuated
That's the piston seal head that's gone
You cant replace it without special 2 prong tool to unscrew an internal fitting. 2pure will sort it for you
