Looks like headsets gone on my jeffsy. Anyone know of any decent deals or Can people recommend a decent replacement please?

On my mk1 I could never definitely find the angle on the races as they were not stamped on.

In the end I just paid the daft price and got them from YT.

That said, might be worth popping the seals of, cleaning out and refilling with decent grease.

The top race is probably not too bad anyway. It's the bottom that suffers.

Yeah I've just took it to bits and the bottom is shot. Seen there's some sealed bearing kits available but was just going to replace the lot.

From memory there are some generic bearings that should fit but the angle might not be the same. That worried me as it would knacker the carbon.

Are there now third party ones that are marketed as fitting the Jeffsy?

I'm dubious about them.

I don't know what the price is of the genuine ones now but they were bloody expensive when I got them.

What are you dubious mate? I think I've dealt with that company in the past for another bike and all was well?

I pack new bearings with marine grease anyway as they are usually under filled.

I found a Hope fitted perfectly in the lower cup, using the standard Jeffsy crown race (ie not a hope crown race)

Hope bearings are good quality too

On my 2017 (I think) vintage, the top headset bearing has been a nightmare to replace, and the only one I've found that does the trick is the overpriced original. The bottom one is generic and most bearings work fine so get something you trust and use that in the bottom. My experience is the bottom is the one that wears the most anyway.

Reckon one of these with the original crown race then?

I have an integrated head set? Is it different on the mk2 Jeffsy?

Mine (mk1) is also integrated, as in the bearing sits directly in the carbon frame cup

Would the hope bottom work? Might just get that

Don't think so mate, your Jeffsy has an integrated headset I would think, like my mk1.

Your link shows the whole lower headset as well as a bearing, is that what you meant to link to or is it a mistake?

Also, is yours the mk1 or 2?
