I need to get a new waterproof for the winter months. My existing jacket is almost too warm unless it gets properly cold so should I buy a better vented 'real' waterproof to wear most of the time or a jacket with less proofing but that is light enough that it can be shoved in my pack until I need it? Third option would be a softshell like an Endura Stealth as a do-it-all for winter.
What are you rolling in when the heavens open and would you buy another?

Rolling in? I presume you mean wearing?
If so I have a Gill Event Jacket, it's very good but I never wear it as I hate wearing waterproofs, getting wet doesn't bother me as long as I'm warm.
