I've heard of it, but then i hear of lots of strange things to do with tenancies. Ask them to see it, and then say you would like someone to check the terms. I really wouldn't pay any money to see the tenancy though.
Just out of interest (yes i am interested) how much was this charge?

A viewing fee is the one i'm hearing more and more of. A fee to go view a property that you might not want, like, be suitable etc etc

Its probably a good sign that are going to try and screw some more money out of you later. Find a good owner/landlord and deal direct rather than an agency if you can.
