I'm coming over for a week next week. 2 things are there any intreresting bike shops (my thing is exotic SS MTB or Vintage track bikes) and we're staying in East Cowes are there any decent trails near there?

There was a singletrackworld route publish a couple of years back which did a loop on the east half of the island. There's obviously some good hills around the various 'downs' most interesting bits of track seemed to be in the woods - if your can see bridleways in woods I'd aim there. Footpath and bridleway signage is best I've ever seen so navigation much easier than most of UK.
