I'd ride it
fwiw id personally ride that ...but i wouldnt send a customers bike out like that - id take that little spacer out then the steerer would be in a nice place ๐
was the previous owner a time trialist who liked his chin on the front wheel ?
got your email about the XS defy , thats fine by me , pass on my email if you want !
Its fine!
Just take the spacer out.
I'm with trail rat. I'd probably ride it myself thinking I'd be able to spot any trouble before it went nasty but I wouldn't do that for anyone else.
Spacer out then replace stem with one with a bit more rise? FWIW I would ride it too.
could you flip the stem to get the same height with the spacer on top? But Id use it like that
Take the spacer out, you won't notice after a few rides.
But as above, assuming that's an alluminium steerer I'd use it.
I'd also be tempted to cut a small length of an old steerer and pop that in the top, so the top pinch bolt has something to tighten up against.
It's not too far off where you want it to be anyway. Why not get a different stem with bolts placed more in the middle rather than that rather odd one which has bolts at the extreme ends of the stem.
