...who would be happy to loan me for a couple of hours, a lockring removal wrench? I'll bring a bottle of wine to say thank you.
My crappy removal socket thing slips off the cassette and is too short to get close to the centrelock discs.
I'm working too late to get to a shop to buy one and I'd really like to get the wheels swapped over ready for my ride on Saturday.
Thanks very much.

lockring removal - are you referring to shimano centrelock discs, or removing a cassette?
if the latter, I have the tools. In Marple.
You mean something like this
for removing a cassette? If so then yes, of course - Mrs NBT's home all day, it's in the toolkit on the workbench. I also have a pamir hypercracker that's easier to use
as you don't need a chain whip
Thanks. I need the huge'ist I can borrow wrench to remove both the cassette lockring and the centrelock disc lockrings on the disc roters.
I have one of those things (Decathlon special though) and it slips off the casette lockring even with the qr holding it on, the wheel laid flat and me trying to hold it on with my foot and it doesnt even reach past the axles to get a purchase on the centrelock disc centrelocks....
far to many lockrings in this post.
One of these sorts of things but for Shimano would be ideal (I hope).

the hyper cracker negates the need for all that faff as it braces against the seatstay. Can't help with centrelock discs though as I have 6-bolt discs
Mail me as I have a spare one as I lost mine bought a new one and then found it
You can have it fpr free as iirc you gave me a hope headset spacer many moons ago that is still in use
Can only get it posted tomorrow so take up nbt kind offer first
Cassette tool and centrelock are the same thing as long as you can get the tool in some shorter stubby cvassette tools dont engage properly
Thanks for the kind offers.
Me and bracing something against the seatstay? That would be a new frame needed tomorrow then. I'm a mechanical numpty.
Doesn't seem fair on you Junkyard. Hope spacer for a gert big wrench? Thanks anyway.
Both very kind offers.
I'm going to knock off early and wave some cash at Jon at the solver of all my biking mechanical woes http://www.bicyclesmithy.co.uk/ .
