I’m in the market for an enduro bike. As the title says, is there a better value bike than the new Capra?

Looking at the base model AL in 27.5

Cheers

Commencal Meta AM and used? Probably a few out there but value really depends if it fits and suits you and what your willing to compromise on - I had the bits I needed to swap out on my base spec Meta to get it to where I wanted it

I couldn’t find a better value new 160mm+ travel bike than the Capra. It turns out it’s an awesome bike too. First time I’ve bought a bike without trying it so I was a bit apprehensive but got really lucky with this one.

I'd have a look at the Radon Swoop 170 as well.

Very nicely made frame and fantastic geometry, with genuinely useful adjustment. More importantly it just rides really well.

Cracking value also.

Not had a Capra, but +1 for the Swoop. Great bike with (mostly) superb kit for the money.

Only thing I've changed on mine is the tyres (Fat Alberts as stock, which are really rubbish and are cynically specced to underreport the weight of the bike), and the plastic levers on the Magura MT5's (great caliper system, crap levers). Replacement alu levers available which are much nicer.

I don't bother with the geometry adjustment, just leave it in full on beast mode the whole time. If I didn't have a trail bike too I'd use it though.

Depends if you like the Capra?

Bird, Canyon, Airdrop, Rose, all make 140-160mm bikes at prices close enough to make them worth considering alongside it.

I did look at the Meta, the price is even better at CRC with British Cycling discount. Looks like a decent alternative.

I've demoed the Bird, I was a bit undecided what I though of it; I've had issues with Canyon, I ordered a Spectral a few years ago and the customer service was atrocious, although my friends Strive is brilliant.

Girl over the road has a Swoop, it's a total monster tbh and great value. A lot of bike, though.

Did you contemplate the 29er?

Better value doesn’t equal better bike.

No, I wanted a 27.5 and from the first ride reviews I’d read said that the 27.5 bike was better (well that’s how I read it)

i also have a 29er trail bike so wanted something quite different.

BTW I have been very pleasantly surprised by how good a bike the Capra is both up and down.
