Just bought the "Folding" park tools bike stand PCS-10. It is great bar one thing. It doesn't want to fold.
When you watch Parks advertising video on youtube it slides so smoothly and simply.
My one is really stuck. I have checked and can get it to move finally, but only with herculean effort or a massive hammer persuading it. I have also tried WD40 and grease but no joy. I think it is faulty with just too tight a fit.
Has anyone else had this. Before I send it back I want to check if any one has any tips.
Thanks in advance.
My PCS-9 was really tight when I assembled it and the first few uses it was a struggle to get it to budge. After a few uses it seems to have become easier to slide the pole.
I agree with dharmstrong. I have a PCS-9 and it looks like the powdercoat is a bit thick. It has worn a bit now and moves very freely.
Got a PCS10 a couple of weeks ago and concur with the above - a b*gger to shift the first few times but then loosened up nicely.
You have popped in the little sprung button thingy, haven't you?
Thanks guys. Yes, pushed the little springy button in. I will persevere then and move it up and down lots to try and wear away a bit of that beautiful blue paint. Can't get over just how snug it is. I did think the WD40 & grease would have smoothed it over, but still amazingly stubborn
