[Closed] Is it imperative to use Isopropyl Alcohol when fully stripping Pikes for service

As title, any proper bike mechanics on here/fork service specialist that have fully stripped and serviced and Rockshox forks like Pike etc?

I have looked on the Sram website and it mentions Isopropyl Alcohol... is there anything else that is completely safe to use and does the same job or shall I just buy this stuff?
On another note, do I even need to use any cleaner if I get all the old oil out and push a rag through carefully getting it nice and dry/oil free?

Will it make any difference to the performance or oil weight doing it this way or is it dodgy?
I know exactly what i'm doing and how to strip and change the o rings, use 5 wt and 15 wt oil and red rum for the seals etc but just wondered wether or not its crucial to use the spray thats all ๐Ÿ™‚

Comments and advice VERY welcome ๐Ÿ™‚

No its not critical. A good wipe with a clean rag will be good enough.

It's better to use it or something similar. I use a citrus cleaner that my LBS recommends. A good wipe with a rag is almost good enough although it's hard to get all the crap out sometimes.
