Is 15mm axle worth ...

[Closed] Is 15mm axle worth the investment on a 130mm fork?

Sorry I imagine the value of the new standard has been done to death but before I bite the bullet and buy I'd be glad to lean on you all for advice.

I'm looking to build up a bike with the DT Swiss XMC 130 on the front. Is it worth the extra expense of a new set of wheels to take advantage of the 15mm model? I have a newish set of XT wheels with sun EQ21 rims, a new set of wheels would be £250. I'm hoping to use the bike for a bit of everything XC, marathon races, but also be able to ride it with confidence around town and on the jumps and drops, nothing extreme though.

Any experiences with the fork much appreciated.

Cheers

new set of wheels? Just get the hub swapped over.

I've never used a 15mm axle but the difference between a my old QR Rev at 130mm and my 20mm Pike at 130mm is noticeable.

Yes, in my experience it is. 130mm or above on most forks you can feel a small improvement in stiffness and tracking.
