As titled, does anyone own a pair of these riding pants? Would like to know how waterproof they are- my old MT500 trousers have lasted 3 winters but no longer waterproof.

Pearl Izumi softshell troos on SportPursuit are superb (and only £32).

Not at all is I think the answer. At least they don't claim to be waterproof, just splash proof. I'm assuming that means they wont be any good on rides where the back wheel is directing a constant stream of water at your rear end, which is pretty much every ride from now 'til April for me 🙁

Helps being a bit of a biffer, R_B 😀

Yeah, softshell stuff isn't completely waterproof, it can get saturated in a decent downpour.

You should try mudguards

Just picked up some of the Pearl Izumi ones from SP, hopefully should be good for winter walking too.

I have. Not for me I'm afraid. At least, not off road, but thanks for the suggestion.

Nah, but I've been on SP for years so it wouldn't have done any good anyway 😀
