I particularly like his comments on 'the most significant developments in mountain biking' - 1x10, light but strong wheels, dropper posts.

Ooooo he's ever so grumpy isn't he. Other than the addition of not liking 29ers that seems to be the same rant list he wheeled out in an interview some time ago in a mountain bike magazine.

Silly man.

"Almost no longer possible to build something interesting" made me chuckle plus the 6 inch full sussers that are apparently less than 4lb 😉 Probably a typo but the overall impression from the "interview"... don't want him touching my forks! 😀

A couple of years ago, "single pivot was the way to go."
Now he rides mondrakers
Mojo are the main reason I don't run fox forks.

Proper scary photo - but a sound fella - guess judging people you don't know is as flawed as they said it would be...

For the pedants with respect to "6lbs..." in my understanding it was referring to the "suspension units weight" - feel free to feed me to the bears if I was incorrect.

Anyhow incase you missed it the linked Mark Weir interview (inside original interview) was also a superb read.

It's incredibly hard to build something interesting, I would have said that's almost a truism in cycling. In large part because you're starting from such a refined design in the first place. When the two of the biggest recent innovations in frame design are 29ers and fat bikes it's clear that there is a real innovation challenge. That's not even a slight on those two types of bike - it's just that you take a step back and it's clear that they're not particularly interesting, not innovative in any real sense.

Quite liked the interview, or snippets thereof - clearly an opinionated chap. Does he design bikes himself? I guess that would be a key part of how serious to take it - is he articulating genuine frustrations or just sounding off for a laugh.

Maybe he should put his money where his mouth is and come up with some "interesting designs" rather than just moan about it.
At the end of the day his tired old opinions are not that relevant, so no sleep lost there...

I've read previous interviews with him. Still seems to be a Gobshite IMO...

All his talk about innovation and big ideas but he still wants £60 off punters for his shonky looking mudguard...
