Seeing mention of e-bikes in another thread prompted me to say that I had not seen talk on here about the EU judgement that means they will need to have third party insurance - see the government consultation on the VNUK case. Then I saw that Vnuk had been raised but poo pooed, people obviously not seeing the full implications.

Will this reduce demand or just mean that we will be saddled with a registration system so that e-bikes can be managed for insurance?

Is this a pedal assisted ebike as in a Specialized Levo turbo or one of those battery moped things you don't have to pedal?

My understanding of it is that motor vehicles will need insurance cover when on private land. An Ebike is pedal assisted not a motor vehicle so don't see it having any impact on them.

yes, this covers ride on mowers, MX bikes and quad bikes, not pedal assist.
