Fixed training bike, just done 40miles on it and my legs are shreaded! If you want to get fit then commuting on a fixed will do it!
I know I am trying to see what would be the cheapest option to get it fixed...
I've got an old 22" steel frame you can have, it'll need a respray and some frame saver but if you can collect it's yours.

Swapped the frame so it can be full disk. BB7s, Hope headset, Hope XC wheels, GXP BB, Pace RC31 fork.

It's tatty and rusty, but does not in any way attract thieves, is light, fast, and relatively maintenance free. Perfect.

Now with XT SPDs (I have a secured compound at work to leave it). It's not in the slightest bit practical for extended road use, but I try to offroad home as much as possible so it comes into its own.
a year on and about 4,000 miles from this photo with no maintenance/ cleaning apart from a change of brake blocks and tyres and she's looking a bit worse for wear now 🙂
