I'm trying to find a track/rack to fit to the floor of a van with fork mounts that will take 2-4 bikes. Something a lot like the Saris Trap Track, but one with mounts which can take 12 or 15 mm through axles as well as the 9mm Q/R. (I've seen some adaptors for the Saris mounts, but they are pretty ugly and require a fair amount of height.)

The 'track' could be permanently bolted to the van, in which case, having the mounts easily detachable / configurable would be really useful.

Anyone seen anything neat?

It'd be pretty easy to make a system if you have a friend whos a welder and gets paid in biscuits.
Probably using an unwin safety rail as the base on a wider bit of metal or or wood. You'd then get a simple c bracket of 3mm steel and then make up some adaptors off that. You could either make different c brackets with fixings or just parts that pop on / off.

You'd want it on rails I'd say as it'd be much nicer sliding that lot out of the van to mount / unmount (just a thought).

I use  the delta system in my van for longer trips, an adjustable drilled bar goes across the van then the q/r brackets bolt to this keeps the bikes steady. Easily removed. You could just mount the brackets to some wood for a similar effect.

I fitted some tee nuts in the plywood floor of my van, then used some uni strut and bolted it down to the floor then used sea sucker fork mounts on it and some other 9mm qr mounts bolted to it.
The mounts can then be slid side to side on the uni strut to allow for different width bars or road bikes and the whole lot can but took out using 2 Allen bolts in about 30 seconds leaving a flat floor

Minoura vergo, the mounts can be angled and moved to match the mix of bikes your carrying

i bought some 2nd hand 20mm mounts cut down the ends and made spacers so I can swap out for 9mm, 9mm x 135, 15mm etc

the are a range of different mounts available to buy

That Minoura looks quite good, thanks.

The Delta brackets look OK, but does anyone know if they have a floor mounted rail to mount them on? The only thing I can find is their 'Stable loader' which seems to be a fairly nasty looking raised bar.

I will need to be able to chop and change the mounts to suit different bikes, so want to avoid bolting anything in place permanently.

I was trying to avoid making anything, but I do also quite like the uni-strut idea - It's quite easy to imagine attaching various mounts to captive nuts in the strut - maybe the Delta mounts...

Thanks.
