First time out on natural trails for a long time today, and what a day! Decided quite late to get out to an area of Wales which I'd never ridden before, riding bridleways and trails which quite frankly were breathtaking. Saw noone in 4 hours or so (except a farmer - more later) and re-discovered skills which I'd initially seemed to have forgotten - such as desecending in a stream which had a bed of 2 foot deep mud in places. Also a classic mess up of navigation which led me to a farm where the farmer informed me that I'd missed the turn off for a bridleway, the first 50 metres of which, was actually a 6 foot wide 2 foot deep ford. Next time definitely taking a camera and will post pics. Now enjoying some hot milk after just arriving home instead of going clubbing with my much younger friend who's be pestering me to take her out - must be getting old ๐Ÿ™‚
