It's great as long as it's not raining 🙂

Gimme a shout when you arrive and I'll be happy to show you around.

No, you'll have to become a roady.

Excellent. 🙂

Avoid the Wellington, the Duke of York and Ali Baba's kebab house.

Give us a shout if you fancy a trip to beautiful downtown Burnley.

No, you’ll have to become a roady.

More seriously, of course, the road riding around there is actually amazing.

OP, you’ve picked a good place to live no matter what your taste in two wheels!

He's right you know, the road riding is amazing. Away from the main roads and town centres, it's all gravy.

Just head uphill and follow the narrowest bit of tarmac you can find.

For off road, replace 'tarmac' with 'trail' and that's about it.

You will never ride or walk it all. Once you think you have, find out where the local farmers drink, buy them a pint and once they've stopped laughing, listen. 🙂

Just pop into the butchers and ask for the "special meat."

The road riding is great as long as you don't like nice spinny flat rides. I miss those. A flat road ride round here is anything below 10% gradient.

Little bits of Long Causeway are flattish..not that you'll notice because of the wind.  The climb back over to Burnley from Hebden, up through Slack  and Blackshaw Head to Burnley is hell in bad weather. It's just relentless - the first pull is brutal, take a breather through Slack and Colden, then you realise you're struggling and you're still climbing.....

Mind you, the descents are worth it.

Careful on Mytholm Steeps..

🙂

I don't know if it's just me ..or maybe you don't understand his accent ..but where did the OP show the slightest interest in road riding ..😁
