I'd heartily recommend you get one with a tapered steerer!
Why?
Not because it's a big improvement, not because it's the next niche thing..... Purely because tapered steerer forks are bloody BARGAINS right now!
And whilst you're at it, get a 15mm axle too.
I've just ordered a pair of 2011 RS Revelation* RLTs for a frankly jaw dropping £315. And as a sweetener, just in case thats not cheap enough you understand, the lovely chaps at Merlin are including a £100+ DT Swiss 240 front hub for precisely £0.00.

haha they only list w.c and xx tapereds aftermarket for 2011 and even at trade they're pricey, £315 is mental cheap.

I was looking for some new 150mm travel forks last weekend to replace my knackered 36 FLOATS. 1.5in, or tapered steerer forks were as cheap as chips everywhere I looked. Trouble is I wanted 11/8in steerer.
I ended up getting, off Merlin, some 2011 Revelation RLT's for £359.
Not as bargaintastic as yours,PP, but a bargain nontheless.

Maybe I should start advertising?! We have TONS of stock and it's all great. We get to buy much of it at greater expense than Merlin sells it for because we buy it from the UK distributor!
