Just getting the parts together to put my old jump/trails bike back together, Its a bit of a labour of love being that the frame cost me 300 squid as did the 1998 Z2 bams back when I was 16. It was abandoned when I went to uni but will live again!

How things have changed however and I now have access to a full spray booth and a better supply of cash so going to get a lot of treats for it! However I can find next to no info on the mk1 frame re. dimensions and max shock etc.

Also no info on the z2's that still work completely fine to my surprise, so if I can get them serviced going to probably respray the legs of those too.

Anyone got any info on either of these two legacy bits of kit? The identiti site makes no reference to the mk1 frame. Should I be bothering with the old Z2's?

Any input on the info or even any ideas for the customisation appreciated.

So you know what I'm talking about:

From memory i believe the MK1 became the MR Hyde which i had in the day. So you might find some info that way.

I ran mine with 130mm z3 qr20's fine.

Marzocchis of that age where very simple to maintain (if coil) so i'd just be tempted to take them apart and see what you can do with them, You haven't lost much if they are knackered and they are a pretty decent fork if working. Probally wouldn't bother sending them off to get serviced put the money into a frame and fork respray at Bob Jacksons or Argos.

Yeah sorry title was supposed to read "Identiti mr hyde mk1 rebuild", it does say my hyde on it but the sticker quality was awful and have moved around quite a bit so hard to read!

Nice to hear the z2's might be an easy job, was hesitant to take them apart without some sort of guide however, meh nothing ventured nothing gained I guess hehe.

Cheers!

A word of warning though oil will go all over make sure you have something to drain it all into.

From memory i took the crown off first then undid the allen key on the bottom of the leg then take an adjustable to the adjusters on the top. Something similar to that should sort it.

I'd email ID or Billys (where i got mine from I think) they might have some. I had a quick scan though my instructions box but haven't kept any.

Even look for a reveiw on google or old Mbuks for mk1 Hydes
