Looking to change my frame from a old Ellsworth Isis (4" travel) to something like a Zesty or a Mojo. Anything else out there I should consider other than an Orange 5? Should say I'm running Fox Vanilla 125 at the moment which I'd like to keep. Cheers ๐
Turner DW flux or 5 Spot?
Don't think you will get a zesty as frame only.
yeti 575
The Mojo will feel odd with 120mm travel at the front, the old vanillas had a smaller axle to crown height too which will exacerbate the problem. It'll be fine for climbing though.
No idea WRT Zesty...sorry.
Fox are pretty low in arch-to-crown-height for their travel
For the frames you mention they usually come with 140mm fox so I would've thought the vanilla wold be too low/steep/twitchy/etc
One of the orange 5's does come with a 130mm rockshox, but rockshox are a little bit taller than fox for their travel. The recon 130mm would be (I think) about 13mm taller than the 125mm Vanilla
Lapierre do the Spicy, Froggy and DH920 frame only, but not the zesty according to their website
cheers everyone
You can't really go wrong with either of those.
I've just bought a Mojo from Stif, the DW linkage is very impressive, almost no suspension movement even when out of the saddle sprinting. Can't wait to get it built up! ๐
benjag, out of interest what forks and kit are you going to put on the mojo?
As others have said, forks will be far too short for the Mojo IMHO. On mine, I started with some Pace RC40 Fighters (150mm travel) then eneded up with Marz Z1 Lights which have same a-c as current Float 36's, and loved it with these on it.
If you want to keep the forks and are keen to get a DW-Link bike, then a Turner Flux would be ideal. If you want a horst link (as per Lapierre) then a Titus Motolite would work with 125mm forks (just).
