I survived the cannock braking bumps, but to be honest, braking bumps at the top of a berm do ruin the flow a bit, it was quite amazing as some of them swallowed the 29er front wheel, i didn't think any were particularly dangerous but as berms are designed to let you carry speed through corners the drops ruined this
it's all technique though and as the trail, quite rightly is open to anyone i guess you are always going to suffer this unless the surface is tarmaced
but other than that it was a good fun trail and i didn't have any trouble with the uphill switchbacks with the 29er as some people had warned me i might have and 1x9 was fine too
big up to chasetrails and the volunteer crews
We went for the first time two weeks ago (about a 100mile drive there ) and thought it was great so +1 to chasetrails
I ride the place weekly and don't notice the bumps any more, they just seem to be part of the trail.
I was there, I WAS THERE!!!
Mountain biking riding implies to me 'uneven surface' who cares. Vote + 1 more bumps
Some trails are built to do one thing well and stop working properly if they get damaged... So it's not just bumps vs smooth, it's trails that work as planned vs trails that don't.
Whats a braking bump?
I've got friends up there so I go several times a year and ride FTD / Monkey and do all the off piste stuff too. It's a great place to ride and I think Chase Trails do a brilliant job ๐
I bet you don't really ride ALL the off piste stuff..... 8)
