Anyone else getting eaten alive while out riding lately?

I got bitten by some critter while out on Saturday, noticed a small puncture mark on the top of my calf when I got home. Yesterday my leg was like MASSIVE swollen from my knee to ankle and itches like mad all over. Went to Dr's today and he's given me antibiotics to take.

God knows what got me but I'm going to be bathing in jungle formula next time I go out 👿

Yep...came home with something yesterday.

Got a really itchy, red, hard lump on my calf which is getting bigger. About an inch across ATM, what ever it was it had big teeth!

Got bitten on the wrist by a horsefly or something in Morzine a couple of years back

Overnight my whole hand ballooned up (seriously, it was like the michelin man's hand) and also, oddly, my ankle but to a lesser extent.

I was in bed shivering and sweating with fever for the next day or so

Thankfully it was the last day of the holiday so not much riding missed.

The hand didn’t go down for a good 3 days.

Bad times.

Stuffing myself with antihistamines helped a bit I think.

I got bitten by something on my calf whilst out riding through the woods, it itched like hell then went black! went to the doc's who thought it was a snake, I then had to take giant unpronounceable antibiotics which gave me "Malaise" which completely and entirely ruined my holiday/festival 🙁

Got 3 or 4 quite swollen bites from the weekend. Can only assume the rain and warm weather brought out a new wave of biting insects.

Bitten on the back of my thigh about 10 days ago, possibly horsefly but not sure what, literally just where you rest whilst you're sat on the toilet, so going for a number 2 was painful to say the least!

Anyway... Was a friday evening by the time it had come up, DR's not open again til Monday morning, I had a poke and a squeeze (blood and puss everywhere, was lovely!), but got the GF's mum (a nurse) to have a look at it too. I thought she was going to have a quick poke, clean it up, and put a bandage on it and have done. Her face was a picture! She said it was one of the worst looking insect bites she'd ever seen, the bite was approaching 3" in diameter, and I should get to a doctor ASAP to get some antibiotics! So no other choice but to pop down A&E on a friday evening... Oh joy!

Got my antibiotics though, and it all disappeared within a few days.
