Having spent literally hundred£s over the last couple of months on builds I still haven't found my commute/woodsy play bike nirvana, but with 7 weeks' holiday now I've plenty of time to get it right this time 🙄 I reckon.

Gotta have gears (I've rebuilt the Inbred a couple of times lately but I'm just not feeling it) and I reckon at least 5" travel up front so I'll be looking for some inexpensive LT forks too. I've just stripped down a lovely Flow Myth with Fox Terralogics up front (coming to an auction site near you this weekend 😉 ) - weighed burger all but felt like a road bike after my f/s . . . I think I need something with big tyres (sorted) and more squish but on a budget (there's not much left in the bike tin).

At the mo' I'm quite tempted by one of these

or one of these (although a bit more expensive)

although I suspect both would be better with shorter travel up front.

Show me your inexpensive roll-over-anything hardtails (no 29ers please).
