Not much useable travel today !
Cracking spot of the nightjar there knottie....did you hear it first?
At least it looks like a nightjar but aren't they nocturnal??? similar in shape to the kestrel and the perched location suits but tail markings aren't quite right.. ๐
On tuesday at the bottom of frog combe, we were lucky to watch a bird of prey swoop and catch it's in flight meal,(only 30ft away) not sure what it was... not sure what woodland warriors prey on flying food sparrow hawk is the main suspect unless a juvenile buzzard got lucky(i no they nest in this combe).
The ride before that a few weeks back i watched a kestrel turn and grab something from the air.....
always impresses me.
Eh - you need clouds to get rain.
It was drizzling here(east quantocks) all morning, i guess knottie couldn't see it improving.
You don't need rain to get wet on the tox, just ride the river descents..
Good pics especially the birdie ๐
So ... did you enjoy the full suss and flats then?
I was on North hill in the middle of your first pic yesterday pointing out the Quantocks to the guys I was out with for the EE warm up.
CG
The suss rear end was comfy but flats are just wrong. It'll take a few rides to get used to not having the pull on the back stroke. Strangely the lack of travel on the forks didnt notice at all.
wow the marin saw the light of day! has th 456 got swineflu or something?
EE is going to be soggy tomorrow, but hopefully the skies will be brighter than those you had today...
knottie - the secret is good shoes combined with good pedals! 5:10's do the job, preferably with Funn Soljam pedals.
Good bird pic. Now the gorse and heather are flowering it makes some nice colours when the sun pops out.
I'll be around on Exmoor tomorrow (Minehead, Selworthy, Horner) for a bimble with 3 mates. I'll have singletrack jersey on. If anyone see us, say hello.
Is that bird a Cuckoo?
Beat me too it young dave I reckon its a cuckoo as well
yes it is a Cuckoo, Cuculus canorus, see official photo here http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/c/cuckoo/index.asp ๐

nice piccy's as per usual mr K
Last chance for the full sus on sunday I am replacing all the pivot bearings all 8 are bugggered
forget the full susser , you need/want a 456 like Mikes !
