After 5 years hanging in the roof of my garage with stripped bb threads my 1997 Klein has been rebuilt. Big thanks to Eddie and his Park BB tap.

2004 fox vanillas set at 80mm. x517 rims, hope hubs, deore stuff.

Very tight budget so a lot of spares bin parts and sale items used but happy with result, first (resurrected) ride tomorrow.

Flame the garden all you want.... it was recently a building site.

Like it, proper garden too, none of this neat herbaceous borders and smartly painted fence crap, it looks like the garden of someone with better things to do than meticulously trim lawn edges.

Nice bike, looks very tidy ๐Ÿ™‚ . though, that's not a real Klein ๐Ÿ˜‰

This is my 1993 Attitude frame:

Soon to be resprayed into a more 'iconic' Klein colour scheme:

Will be losing the yellow on the rear dropouts, either stick with pink or maybe do them in the same blue as the front dropouts...

Don't spray it, the original colour is far nicer.

Those two pictures up there ^ (didn't follow the link) are more than enough, make the bike look just right, big chunky aluminium tubes and nice pain job. Very jealous, bet that rides like a little rocket on the singletrack.

No! Leave it! Those fade schemes are beautiful. And iconic.

It's not an original fade scheme though, it's a respray already (a good one, but not a great fade tbh)...

sorry OP, didn't mean to hijack your thread! ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Thanks for the positive comments. Must be the sun!

Keep riding them. It's what they were built for.

Gatorfade is the best Klein paint scheme in my opinion. Tioga disc wheel and green wild grippers are a bonus.

But as much as I continue to lust after such bikes they ain't a patch on a modern full susser and are merely wall art.

I'm not surprised you were on a tight budget.

How my Velux windows do you need on that extension!

(Looks good though, the bike and new kitchen!)

Lovely, but that seatpost and bottle cage make me want to vomit.

I used to have one of those! It was the 'cheap' Klein (not really a propper one) Mine snapped where the BB meets the chain stay, as did some one elses that I know. Mine was replaced with an Attitude Race frameset which was a world apart in terms of quality.

Apparently they had issues with lots of these bikes. If it snaps on you now I wonder if Klein - Oops Trek will replace it with another Klein?

I should use mine more than I do, but I just need to get the PACE RC36's repaired!

Clubber I think you've been told off for posting that pic one too many times.

Surely even you are sick of seeing it..
