Hi All , some of you may remember me as i used to ride a lot of events until about 4 years ago,
Before this i had ridden in 8 24hr events ( 6 solo ) and a lot of Welsh races and Merida enduros.
Some of you will have seen my Tiger mascot on the back of my saddle.
Due to work commitments i missed a lot of events from 2006
Then in Dec 2007 i had a mini stroke (TIA) which put me out of action for most of 08 and 09 although i did ride Sleepless in a pair.
This year i have entered Sleepless in the solo class and hope to raise money for the Jim Cronin Memorial Trust.
If you would like to sponsor me please go to my just giving page
http://www.justgiving.com/MTB4JIM
If you see the Tiger at any events please say hi
Thanks Ricky

Just bumping this up in case anyone missed the first time a i posted.
The fund i am riding for are having my info put in the latest Monkey world magazine so Sleepless will get some publicity to an audience that probably didn't know the event existed .
Hope you can support me
Thanks Rick

Only one week to go before the 24hr and the run in could not have been much worse.
Callum, my eldest son was airlifted to hospital last Wednesday with no feeling or movement to his legs, he has had loads of tests with nothing confirmed but it seems he has some sort of virus effecting some nerves in his spinal cord. he now has feeling as far up as his knees and can wiggle his toes a bit.
Obviously with traveling to the hospital in Birmingham everyday the 24hr has become a bit of a after thought although i still hope to take part if things improve for Callum.
Last minute update, Callum has now moved into a new ward in the new hospital in Birmingham, he can now stand with a little help from his frame and doesnt suffer from the inner ear balance problem he had earlier in the week.
So given his great progress we are going up to SITS tomorrow morning then going back to hospital to visit him in the evening.
All in all things have worked out ok and now looking forward to the ride
