That seems quite heavy, no? I thought one of the benefits of carbon rims was lower weight for similar resilience but that's not better than high end aluminium yet more expensive...
The whole crash replacement/lifetime warranty thing as definitely affected this, some brands seem to have started overbuilding their carbon MTB rims to reduce their chances of losing money from having to replace them.
I agree that this kinda defeats the whole point on carbon in the first place, plus it almost guarantees a pretty harsh ride feel.
The pair of hunt proven carbons my lad had have both cracked. Could just be unlucky I guess.
