[Closed] Hub overhaul - what grease?

There's side to side play in my front wheel so I'm going to give the hub a service, it hasn't had one since new (at least six years) so I figure it's overdue.

What grease do you guys recommend for the bearings? I'm after something good/cheap although I know the two don't go hand in hand!

I took it apart last week to make sure it was all in one piece and noticed there was a gap big enough for a bearing on both sides of the hub, is this normal? I don't remember this being the case on my old bike, and can't imagine how two bearings would have fallen out...

Cup and cone I presume?

There is usual enough room for 1 more bearing in each race, if they were packed in then they'd rub against each other and nay grease would be displaced too quickly.

I prefer rock and roll "super web" for bearings as it seems to stay put longer, but any waterproof bearing grease will do.

+1 I think I got mine on Wiggle. Some hardware stores do it too.
